The M-Tet is an instrumental R&B quartet consisting of guitar/organ/bass/drums located in the SF Bay Area.
Rooted in the deep study of 1960’s Organ-based R&B, The M-Tet first tackled the Meters’ 1968 release in it’s entirety. Soon after, adding their own soul-drenched originals as well as noted tracks by Dizzy Gillespie and Chano Pozo, Funk Inc., The Soul Machine, et al.
The M-Tet recorded and mixed “Hot Buttered Rum” in their comfy, lo-fi studio. One room, no headphones. Recorded live with minimal mics to 4-track tape.
